Gaetz heckles McCarthy on GOP convention floor during interview, Illinois GOP official intervenes
"He’s got an ethics complaint of sleeping with a 17 year old," McCarthy said as Gaetz was heckling him
Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., was spotted heckling former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., on the GOP convention floor during a CNN interview on Tuesday evening.
"What night are you speaking?" Gaetz said to McCarthy while he was doing the interview.
"He’s got an ethics complaint of sleeping with a 17 year old," McCarthy said as Gaetz was heckling him.
"If you took that stage, you would get booed off of it," Gaetz said to him.
Richard Porter, the Republican National Committeeman from Illinois, reportedly confronted Gaetz and told him to stop.
"Shut up," Porter told Gaetz, who replied, "Dude, I don't even know who you are."
"It doesn't f---- matter who I am. Don't be an a--hole," Porter said as Gaetz walked away.
