George Santos says he will likely be expelled from the House
“I know I’m going to get expelled when this expulsion resolution goes to the floor,” Santos said during a Space on X.
Congressman George Santos, R-N.Y., said during a Space on X, formerly called Twitter, that he expects to be expelled from the House.
A Space on X is a public audio chat room for Twitter users.
“I know I’m going to get expelled when this expulsion resolution goes to the floor,” he said during the Space.
Last week, the House Ethics Committee filed a resolution to expel Santos after the committee released a report that found he "blatantly stole from his campaign."
The 56-page report also found he "deceived donors" and "reported fictitious loans to his political committees to induce donors and party committees to make further contributions to his campaign – and then diverted more campaign money to himself."
While Santos has survived two attempts at expulsion, some GOP members are expected to change their vote on the upcoming resolution, according to The Hill.
During the Space, Santos said that he felt like the “it girl” when he was first elected in 2022.
He had previously said he would not run for reelection.
