GOP-House panel continues with its all-nighter to try to get Trump's budget bill to final vote

The process has been further complicated by Democratic committee members complaining that they don't have a final bill on which to vote because GOP leadership continues to rewrite it as compromises are made.

The GOP-led House's overnight effort to get President Trump's budget bill over the last major hurdle toward a final vote continues into early Wednesday morning.

The vote is stuck in the House Rules Committee amid wrangling among Republican members over such key issues as extending the tax cuts President Trump enacted in 2017, energy policy, changes to Medicaid and a debt limit increase, according to The Hill newspaper.

The process has been further complicated by Democratic committee members complaining that they don't have a final bill on which to vote because GOP leadership continues to rewrite it as compromises are made.

No Democrat is expected to vote in favor of the bill, regardless. The committee started its hearing on the bill at 1 a.m. Wednesday.
