GOP Rep., acting Secret Service director clash at hearing on assassination attempts against Trump
Fallon criticized Rowe for waiting days before he visited the site where Trump shot on July 13 in Butler, PA.
Acting Secret Service director Ronald Rowe and Rep. Pat Fallon, R-Texas, got into a screaming match during a hearing about the two assassination attempts against President-elect Trump.
Fallon criticized Rowe for waiting days before he visited the site where Trump shot on July 13 in Butler, PA.
During the hearing, he displayed a photo showing the acting director close to Trump instead of his security detail when he was in New York for the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
“Who is usually at an event like this closest to the president of the United States?” Fallon asked. “Were you the special agent in charge of the detail that day?”
Rowe said Fallon's line on questioning was for political reasons.
Fallon said he wanted to know why Trump's detail wasn't closer, noting that only Rowe can be seen in the photo he displayed without other agents in sight.
