GOP senators reveal Kerry's pseudonym email address as secretary of State, ask agency to investigate
“We want to know whether then-Secretary Kerry properly complied with all federal records laws and regulations with respect to his official email communications and whether responses to relevant Freedom of Information Act requests have properly included that email address in productions to requestors," the senators wrote to Sec. GOP Sens. Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley on Tuesday made public the pseudonym email that John Kerry used while secretary of state and are asking the agency to investigate the matter.
“Based on legally protected whistleblower disclosures to our offices, it’s our understanding that then-Secretary of State John Kerry used the email address ‘SESTravel1@state.gov,’” the lawmakers wrote in a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“We want to know whether then-Secretary Kerry properly complied with all federal records laws and regulations with respect to his official email communications and whether responses to relevant Freedom of Information Act requests have properly included that email address in productions to requestors.”
Kerry was secretary of State from 2013 to 2017, under the Obama administration.
The senator's letter to Blinken follow the senators saying last month the have information showing Kerry obstructed FBI efforts to "arrest dangerous Iranian individuals amid Iran Nuclear Deal negotiations."
