House Freedom Caucus leader says Pelosi did 'the most' to elect the new GOP House majority
Perry's comment came in response to Rep. Kat Cammack endorsing McCarthy for speaker before the 6th ballot, saying no one has done more to elect the new GOP majority.
House Freedom Caucus Chairman Rep. Scott Perry said on Wednesday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has done "the most" to elect the new GOP House majority.
"I think the person that has done the most, that has done the most, to make this fabulous, this wonderful Republican majority is Speaker Pelosi and her policies. That's what has achieved this majority over here because the American people are sick and tired of it and have had enough of it," Perry said on the House floor.
Perry's comment came in response to Florida GOP Rep. Kat Cammack, who endorsed House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy for speaker before the 6th ballot and said no one has done more to elect the new GOP majority.
Perry nominated Florida GOP Rep. Byron Donalds for speaker ahead of the 6th ballot. A group of about 20 House Freedom Caucus members have opposed McCarthy for speaker.
