House Republican files impeachment articles against Biden over halting Israel aid: 'Quid pro quo'
"In violation of his oath to faithfully execute the office of President and to uphold the Constitution, President Biden abused the powers of his office by soliciting a 'quid pro quo' with Israel while leveraging vital military aid for policy changes," Rep. Mills said in a statement.
Rep. Cory Mills, R-Fla., filed articles of impeachment on Friday against President Biden over his decision to halt Israel aid passed by Congress.
Biden said this week he would withhold the aid if Israel invades Rafah.
Biden's threat has drawn comparisons to the Democrats' first impeachment of former President Trump over a conversation he had with Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky about foreign aid and investigating Biden's son Hunter's business dealings in the country.
"In violation of his oath to faithfully execute the office of President and to uphold the Constitution, President Biden abused the powers of his office by soliciting a 'quid pro quo' with Israel while leveraging vital military aid for policy changes," Mills said in a statement.
"This egregious action not only compromised the credibility of the United States but also undermined the interests of our longstanding ally, Israel. Therefore, President Biden's conduct warrants impeachment, trial, removal from office, and disqualification from holding any future office under the United States," he added.
