House Speaker Johnson: Largest congressional election observer program in history ready for Nov. 5
"The Election Observer Program shows that reinforcing the integrity and transparency of our electoral process should be a nonpartisan issue, agreed upon by all," says Johnson
House Speaker Mike Johnson on Friday announced the "most robust" congressional election observer program in U.S. history, involving more than 200 GOP staffers, is ready for Election Day on Nov. 5.
These congressional staffers have "fully completed their training and are prepared to be deployed ahead of the upcoming election," the offices of Johnson and House Administration Chairman Rep. Bryan Steil, R-Wis., said in a statement.
"The Election Observer Program shows that reinforcing the integrity and transparency of our electoral process should be a nonpartisan issue, agreed upon by all. I’m encouraged to see a record number of staff participating and volunteering in the program to protect legal voters and help ensure our elections are secure and fair," Johnson said.
Steil said the program will make the election "more transparent" and fair.
