Lawmakers emphasize transparency on 'Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenas'
“This hearing is intended to help Congress and the American people to learn the extent of the programs and activities our government has engaged in with respect to UAPs—and what knowledge it has yielded," Mace said during opening remarks.
Lawmakers, during a hearing on Wednesday, emphasized the importance of transparency with the public on "Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenas" such as unidentified flying objects.
Reps. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., and Glenn Grothman, R-Wis., held a hearing titled “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena: Exposing the Truth.”
“This hearing is intended to help Congress and the American people to learn the extent of the programs and activities our government has engaged in with respect to UAPs—and what knowledge it has yielded," Mace said during opening remarks.
Some witnesses included former NASA Associate Administrator of Space Policy and Partnerships Michael Gold and Dr. Tim Gallaudet, an admiral of the U.S. Navy.
In a previous hearing on UFO's, a whistleblower told Congress many pilots have had sightings of UAP's but have not reported anything to higher-ups due to fear of losing their jobs.
“I hope our witnesses today will be able to provide evidence and content that is worthwhile in our pursuits of eliminating government waste and increasing transparency," Grothman said.
