Sen. Lindsey Graham on Thursday provide a more in depth preview of what his Senate Judiciary Committee will probe next month when members begin hearings on the FBI's investigation into Russia's 2016 election interference – including the federal government's recently dropped case against former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn.

Graham, the committee chairman, told The Hill that the hearings also will address the appointment of Robert Mueller to lead the special counsel in the years-long probe and warrants obtained against Trump adviser Carter Page.

The South Carolina Republican said the committee "will begin holding multiple, in-depth congressional hearings regarding all things related to Crossfire Hurricane," referring to the FBI's codename for the Russian investigation.

The announcement comes several hours after President Trump on Twitter urged Graham to call former President Obama as a witness in the investigation. "[J]ust do it. No more Mr. Nice Guy. No more talk!" the president tweeted.

Graham said "both presidents are welcome to come before the committee and share their concerns about each other" but that he doubted "whether it would be wise for the country."

Graham said last week that he sought to "bring oversight to the table [and] political accountability." The senator said he would invite Flynn to testify at the hearings.
