Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell after the 2020 election privately described then-President Donald Trump as “stupid as well as being ill-tempered,” and a “despicable human being,” according to a soon-to-be-released biography by Michael Tackett, deputy Washington bureau chief of The Associated Press.

Tackett’s book, “The Price of Power,” reports on the sour relationship between Trump and McConnell. Trump once referred to McConnell as a "dour, sullen, and unsmiling political hack.”

Despite the reported comments in the new book, McConnell has endorsed Trump for president in 2024.

The biography will be released Oct. 29, shortly before the Nov. 5 election.
