MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle says Harris isn't explaining how she would pay for her new programs

"If the GOP is controlling the Senate, if she can’t raise corporate taxes, where is she going to get the money from to expand the child tax credit and do whatever she wants to do?" Ruhle says

MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle called out Vice President Kamala Harris for not answering her question on how she plans to raise taxes with what would likely be a divided government.

Ruhle asked Harris during an interview how she would proceed with the new programs she wants to implement if there's divided government.

In her answer, Harris discussed how she wants to raise corporate taxes and make billionaires pay their "fair share" in taxes.

After the interview, Ruhle said Harris didn't answer her question.

"If the GOP is controlling the Senate, if she can’t raise corporate taxes, where is she going to get the money from to expand the child tax credit and do whatever she wants to do? And she says, ‘we just have to do it,’" Ruhle told MSNBC's Nicolle Wallace on Wednesday. "That’s great and that’s a campaign promise, but the issue is, if it means we’re going to just borrow again, then what we’re doing is we’re just never addressing the deficit. And back in the days when you were a proud Republican, debts and deficits matters."
