Firebrand conservative Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene on Wednesday said that she will support House Speaker Mike Johnson's bid for a full term, despite her previous criticisms.

Greene has often been critical of Johnson since he unexpectedly became speaker last year, even threatening to try and oust him because he allegedly broke promises he made when running for the post. She has also accused him of being too lenient with Democrats and passing President Joe Biden's agenda.

The Republican on Wednesday said that while her past criticisms of the speaker were "warranted," the pair have since worked to improve their relationship. One apparent sign of the repaired relationship is Greene holding a coveted chairman position on the House Oversight subcommittee on Delivering on Government Efficiency (DOGE).

“I will be supporting him for speaker," Greene told Politico. "He's got everyone coming around him for him to be able to pass the agenda that I'm sure he wished he could have passed this Congress."

Greene's support comes despite other Republicans teasing that they could nominate another candidate to replace Johnson. Anonymous sources did not indicate who that other candidate would be.

The House is expected to have its floor vote for House Speaker on Jan. 3.
