NY Democratic Rep. Bowman pleads guilty to pulling fire alarm during key Hill vote last month

New York Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman pleaded guilty Thursday morning to falsely pulling a fire alarm in a Capitol Hill office building last month ahead of a key House vote.
The congressman was charged by police Wednesday with the misdemeanor offense, to which he pled guilty.
Bowman appeared in D.C. Superior Court for his arraignment, according to The Hill newspaper.
He will to pay a $1,000 fine and write an apology to the Capitol Police, under his agreement with prosecutors.
Bowman has admitted to pulling the alarm inside the Cannon House Office Building but said it was accident and that he thought it would open a door.
