Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown, who is running for reelection in November, raised more than $30 million in the third quarter, his office said in a statement on Wednesday.
Brown is engaged in one of the biggest Senate races of the 2024 election period, where Republicans are hoping to flip the seat red with GOP challenger Bernie Moreno. Other vulnerable Senate seats include West Virginia, Montana, and Maryland.
The senator's $30.6 million pull for the third quarter of 2024 is the record for a single quarter for an Ohio Senate candidate, and is more than double the $13 million he raised in the second quarter, according to The Hill. Moreno's team has not unveiled his numbers for the third quarter.
“Sherrod has a proven track record fighting for Ohioans, whether it’s fighting for a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions or saving the pensions of over 100,000 Ohio workers — and that’s why he has unprecedented momentum going into the final month of this campaign," Brown’s campaign manager Rachel Petri said in a statement. “Sherrod ... [is] grateful to every supporter and volunteer working to make sure [he] can keep fighting for all Ohioans."
Brown is currently leading by three percentage points, according to an average by RealClearPolling.
