Pence: Bob Dole 'inspired a generation' of war veterans and public servants
A memorial service for former Sen. Bob Dole was held in Washington on Friday
Former Vice President Mike Pence told Just the News on Friday at a memorial service for Bob Dole that the late Senate Republican leader "inspired a generation" of war veterans and public servants and he won't be forgotten.
"Bob Dole was a great man and a great American from the time he served in uniform with courage and distinction; more than 50 years serving the people of Kansas. He inspired a generation of veterans and a generation of public servants and he'll never be forgotten," said Pence when asked what he thinks today's political leaders could learn from Dole's legacy.
Pence, also a former Capitol Hill Republican, spoke about the WWII veteran after his memorial service at the Washington National Cathedral that also was attended by President Joe Biden, former President Bill Clinton, former Vice President Dick Cheney and former Vice President Dan Quayle.
