House Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan of Ohio are running for House speaker.
The poll covered the Oct. 4-6 timeframe and surveyed 2,155 Americans.

In September, former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy directed House committees to open an impeachment inquiry into President Biden over his potential involvement in his family's foreign business deals. The first hearing was held at the end of the month. McCarthy was later removed as speaker after Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) introduced a motion to vacate the chair that passed.
