Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., called for "proof of life" from President Biden after he dropped out of the race in letter on Sunday without making any public statements.

Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for president in the letter, which was posted to his social media accounts. Biden said in the letter he plans to speak about his decision to leave the race later in the week.

"I demand proof of life from Joe Biden today by 5:00pm. He needs to get in front of some camera and discuss if he’s aware that he dropped out. Hiding is completely unacceptable," Boebert, a member of the House Oversight Committee, wrote on her X account on Monday.

Later in the day, she repeated her call for "proof of life" in a separate post and also wrote, "Is Joe Biden alive?"

Harris made her first public appearance on Monday since Biden left the presidential race. She said he wanted to be at the White House on Monday for the ceremony honoring NCAA champions but he is still recovering in Delaware from a COVID-19 infection.

"He is feeling much better and recovering fast, and he looks forward to getting back on the road," Harris said.

White House physician Kevin O'Connor wrote a letter on Monday to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean Pierre with an update on Biden’s health.

"President Biden completed his tenth dose of PAXLOVID this morning. His symptoms have almost resolved completely," O'Connor wrote in the letter.

"His pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and temperature remain absolutely normal. His oxygen saturation continues to be excellent on room air. His lungs remain clear,” he also wrote.

Republicans have called for Biden to resign from office after leaving the presidential race.

"The Democrat Party forced the Democrat nominee off the ballot, just over 100 days before the election. Having invalidated the votes of more than 14 million Americans who selected Joe Biden to be the Democrat nominee for president, the self-proclaimed ‘party of democracy’ has proven exactly the opposite," House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said in a statement on Sunday.

“If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough,” he added.
