Republicans boo Biden over Social Security comments during the State of the Union

President Joe Biden was booed during the 2023 State of the Union address by GOP members of Congress after criticizing some of them for what he said were proposed cuts or sunsetting of Social Security and Medicare. 

"Some Republicans want Medicare and Social Security to sunset," Biden said during the State of the Union. "I'm not saying it's the majority."

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy gave a head shake while others booed Biden. 

Georgia GOP Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene yelled "liar" and "you lie" during the speech.
