Senator Chuck Grassley is demanding transparency from the Biden administration concerning the declassification of documents related to the controversial FBI investigation “Crossfire Hurricane.”

According to the Associated Press, the FBI investigation was authorized during the 2016 presidential election cycle to investigate potential ties between Russia and the Trump campaign.

On his final full day in office, former President Donald Trump declassified any documents related to the covert investigation, instructing the Attorney General’s office to release the documentation within a timely manner.

However, according to Grassley, Attorney General Merrick Garland has been slow to declassify the material.

In a letter obtained by Just the News, Grassley blasted Garland for not giving a definitive answer as to when the American public will see these declassified records.

“To-date, the Justice Department has not produced a single declassified record to Congress and the American people,” Grassley said in the letter addressed to Garland.

“Unfortunately, this specific example of the Biden Justice Department’s failure to produce responsive material is consistent with its pattern and practice under your leadership,” he continued.

Grassley went on to say that this is not just a “congressional oversight matter,” but rather, “it’s a matter of posterity.”

“Crossfire Hurricane has been the subject of many public reports, letters, hearings and document productions. Accordingly, this cannot be overstated – the public has a right to possess these records,” the Iowa senator concluded.

So far, the Justice Department has not commented on the declassification of “Crossfire Hurricane” documents.
