Sen. John Boozman will run for reelection this Fall after winning the Arkansas Senate Republican primary on Tuesday, according to The Associated Press which called the race shortly after 9 p.m. local time.

With the endorsement of former President Donald Trump, Boozman won more than 57% of the vote against three primary challengers, with 40% of ballots counted.

One of Boozman's challengers, former NFL player Jake Bequette, made headlines earlier this month after he successfully sued the state for misspelling his name on primary ballots.

Fellow Arkansas Republican Sen. Tom Cotton previously voiced his support on Twitter for Boozman and former White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who is running to replace retiring GOP Gov. Asa Hutchinson.

"I hope you join me and support these great conservatives," Cotton said on May 13, explaining in a video that he voted early.
