The Democratic-led Senate passed a bill on Thursday to avoid a national rail workers union strike.

The Democratic-led House passed the bill to avert the strike on Wednesday in a bipartisan vote. It now heads to President Biden's desk.

The House passed a separate bill to raise the amount of paid sick days for rail workers from one to seven. This legislation failed in the Senate on Thursday.
