Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., has introduced a resolution "strongly condemning" Vice President Kamala Harris’ performance as President Joe Biden’s border czar.

The resolution, which she introduced on Tuesday, formally condemns the Biden administration for 9.7 million illegal immigrant encounters nationwide taking place since January 2021.

The resolution highlights that top border officials said they hadn't spoken to Harris during their tenure.

"Whereas former United States Border Patrol Chief Raul Ortiz stated that during his two years in the position," read the resolution, which includes quotes from Ortiz.

‘‘I’ve never had one conversation with the president [Biden] or the vice president [Harris], for that matter. I was the Chief of the Border Patrol, I commanded 21,000 people. That’s a problem,’’ he reportedly said.

According to the resolution, current United States Border Patrol Chief Jason Owens stated that Vice President Kamala Harris has "not spoken with him since he was appointed in July 2023."
