GOP Tennessee congressman to introduce measure condemning Biden's 'garbage' comment
Rep. Rose is expected to introduce the measure sometime this week, according to Fox News.
Rep. John Rose, R-Tenn., will introduce a measure to condemn President Joe Biden's remarks where he referred to supporters of GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump as "garbage."
"President Biden must be condemned for calling millions of Americans who support Donald Trump garbage," Rose told Fox News Digital during an interview.
Rose is expected to introduce the measure sometime this week, according to the outlet.
"First, Democrats called half the country deplorables," Rose said. "Now, they are doubling down, calling us garbage. Democrats’ disrespect for half the country’s views and opinions is exactly what is wrong with the leadership of extreme far-left liberals."
Biden addressed comments that a warm-up comic made at Trump's Madison Square Garden rally about Puerto Rico during a virtual call. This was the same day Vice President Kamala Harris gave a major campaign speech outside of the White House in Washington, D.C.
"Just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage," Biden said. "The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters. His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it is un-American."
The White House has denied Biden referred to Trump supporters as garbage.
Trump responded to Biden's remarks, calling them "terrible."
