Congressman Chip Roy announces 'Pledge to Stand Up for America' commitment
Issues such as border security and ending vaccine mandates will be in Rep. Roy's commitment.
GOP congressman Chip Roy says that he has a "Pledge to Stand Up for America" commitment that he will put out tomorrow for his own constituents in Texas.
House Republicans usually have a "Commitment to America" framework that they announce in mid-September with a plan on how to rebuild the economy if they take back control of the House. Rep. Roy says he expects there to be a "Commitment to America" coming soon.
'My guess is it (the plan) will also fall short," the Texas Republican said on the John Solomon Reports podcast. "I think it will outline some things that we ought to follow. But I'm afraid that it won't be as aggressive as it should be."
Roy said that he plans to put out his own "Pledge to Stand Up for America" commitment tomorrow so his constituents can see that Republicans are fighting for the people.
"I'm going to be putting out to my own constituents tomorrow — what I call my "Pledge to Stand Up for America," Roy continued. "I'm going to outline all the things that I think Republicans should be doing. I'm going to make that public, not to compete, but because I owe to my constituents what I believe we ought to be doing."
Issues such as border security and ending vaccine mandates will be in Rep. Roy's commitment.
"I believe that if we're given the power in January, we should stop the continued funding of IRS agents, FBI, CDC, NIH that are jamming people with vaccine mandates," Roy stated. "I think we should end those vaccine mandates. I think we should demand that we secure the border."
Roy also added that government spending is a key issue Americans are concerned about.
"I think we should advance an agenda that American people want to see us advance," Roy continued. "And that means spending within our means. That means healthcare freedom. That means a strong border. That means energy freedom so you can get the energy of your desires. That means stopping the Chinese Communist Party from buying up land in the United States."
