Abortion rights protesters target Justice Amy Coney Barrett's house

A group of abortion rights activists convened outside the home of Trump-appointed Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett on Thursday evening to wave signs and chant their disapproval of the recent overturning of Roe v. Wade.

About 20 people, many affiliated with the activist group Our Rights DC, were observed marching and chanting lines such as "F*** you, Barrett," and "liar" outside the justice's Virginia residence. The group will reportedly gather in front of Justice Clarence Thomas' house on Friday evening. 

According to the New York Post, members of the crowd carried signs reading, "Keep your rosaries off my ovaries" and "Impeach Expand Codify."

Following the Supremer Court's June 24 ruling on Roe, which ended the constitutional right to abortion, a number of states implemented "trigger" laws that immediately banned or heavily restricted abortion access. 

Such protests, in fact, started weeks earlier when a draft of the opinion on overturning Roe, of which Barrett was part, was leaked. 

President Joe Biden is scheduled Friday to hold a virtual meeting with governors to discuss the status of abortion rights in the wake of the decision. While overseas this week, Biden blasted the Supreme Court's ruling, calling it the "the one thing has been destabilizing," even amid record inflation and supply chain shortages in the U.S. 

On Thursday, Biden said he believes Roe v. Wade ought to be codified, and despite failing to support the overturning of the legislative filibuster in the past, he said, "if the filibuster gets in the way ... we provide an exception for this."
