Air Force says Pentagon leaker Jack Teixeira will face court-martial
Teixeira earlier this year signed a guilty plea and agreed to a 16-year prison sentence.
Massachusetts Air National Guard member Jack Teixeira, who leaked classified military material, will face a military court-martial, according to the Air Force.
The Air Force said in a statement that Teixeira will be tried at Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts. As of now, there is not a date for the trial, according to The Associated Press.
Military prosecutors argued that a court-martial should happen due to him violating an "absolute core" of the military.
Teixeira earlier this year signed a guilty plea and agreed to a 16-year prison sentence.
He was arrested in April of 2023 on accusations that he leaked classified military documents on the social media platform Discord.
He also agreed to pay a $50,000 fine.
