Jack Teixeira, the Massachusetts Air National Guard member who leaked classified military material, signed a guilty plea and agreed to a 16-year prison sentence.

Teixeira, who originally pleaded not guilty to federal charges last June, is now expected to participate in a "satisfactory debrief with members of the Intelligence Community, the Department of Defense and/or the Department of Justice," where he will "provide truthful, complete and accurate information" and all other relevant materials he may possess, per the plea deal published Monday.

Teixeira, who was 21 when he was arrested in April 2023 on accusations that he leaked classified military documents on the social media platform Discord, also agreed to a $50,000 fine and 36 months of supervised release after his incarceration.
