Appeals court hears arguments on limited gag order in Trump federal election interference case

A federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., will hear arguments Monday on former President Trump's gag order in his federal election interference case.

The hearing is Trump's most recent effort to lift the limited gag order issued by U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan that prohibits the former president and 2024 GOP presidential candidate from making or reposting statements "publicly targeting" the judge, his staff and other D.C. district court personnel.

The order also applies to such statement regarding Jack Smith, the special counsel appointed by the Justice Department to lead the government's election interference case against Trump.

The appeals court has already paused the order, but Trump and his attorneys continue to fight it, according to ABC News.
