A San Francisco court Friday released the video and audio tapes of the attack last year on Paul Pelosi, husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Pelosi was attacked Oct. 28, 2022, in his and his wife's San Francisco townhouse allegedly by David DePape.

The footage showed Paul Pelosi opening the door. Later, Pelosi and DePape were side by side with each having hands on a hammer.

The police eventually arrived on the scene.

“Hi,” DePape said. “How you doing?”

An officer asked, “What’s going on, man?”

“Everything’s good,” DePape responded.

“Drop the hammer!” an officer ordered.

“Um, nope,” DePape had replied in response.

DePape proceeded to strike Paul Pelosi on the head with the hammer, resulting in him being tackled by the officers.

The court also released surveillance footage of DePape breaking into Pelosi's home. The footage is reportedly from the U.S. Capitol Police. 82-year-old Pelosi was several injured in the attack, including a fractured skull as a result of being struck by the intruder with a hammer. His wife, a California Democrat congresswoman, was not home at the time.

DePape is facing state and federal  charges stemming from his alleged break-in and attack.

The San Fransisco Superior Court released the footage after a coalition of news organizations made a legal request, asking for transparency.

DePape's attorneys argued against the release, saying it it might compromise their client's ability to get a fair trial.
