Disbarred South Carolina attorney Alex Murdaugh pleaded not guilty Wednesday to charges of murdering his wife and younger son in June 2021.
Murdaugh was indicted last week on two charges of murder and two charges of possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, in connection with the killings.
Before the murder counts last week, Murdaugh already faced over 80 other charges, mostly relating to financial crimes, Fox News reported.
Murdaugh's wife, 52-year-old Maggie Murdaugh, and his son, 22-year-old Paul Murdaugh, were found dead from gunshot wounds on the family's hunting property more than a year ago. Alex Murdaugh reported the crime and claimed he returned to the home to find the ghastly scene.
