Federal appeals court upholds Bannon's contempt of Congress conviction for defying Jan. 6 subpoena
Bannon was sentenced to four months in federal prison for not complying with the subpoena but he did not serve any jail time while his appeal played out
The U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit on Friday upheld the decision finding Steve Bannon, an ex-adviser to former President Donald Trump, guilty for not complying with a subpoena from the House January 6 select committee.
Bannon was sentenced to four months in federal prison for not complying with the subpoena. Bannon has not served any jail time while his latest appeal played out.
The three-judge appeals panel provided Bannon with time to appeal its ruling to the full DC-based appeals court before his conviction is formally upheld.
