Federal judge denies Nadine Menendez’s request to further delay bribery trial

Judge Sidney Stein previously approved Mrs. Menendez's request to delay the trial. It was later revealed that she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

A federal judge denied a request on Monday to further delay the trial of Nadine Menendez, wife of Bob Menendez, New Jersey’s former senator.

The trial is scheduled for Jan. 21, which is eight days before Mr. Menendez is expected to be sentenced for bribery.

Judge Sidney Stein previously approved Mrs. Menendez's request to delay the trial. It was later revealed that she was undergoing treatment for breast cancer. 

Menendez and his wife were indicted last September.
