The trial for Dominion Voting Systems' defamation lawsuit against Fox News that was scheduled to start Monday has been delayed for 24 hours, the Delaware judge presiding over the case said late Sunday.

Superior Court Judge Eric Davis in announcing the delay also suggested that jury selection continues, according to The Hill

Davis gave no further details about the delay but is expected to Monday morning.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting Fox News is making an eleventh-hour attempt to settle the suit to avoid having to put its stars and top executives on the stand.

Dominion argues Fox knowing reported false claims about 2020 election fraud connected to its voting machines.

Fox says it is protected by the First Amendment in having allowed those who made such claims talk about them on their shows and that Dominion has not been harmed by its coverage of what it considered newsworthy content.
