Georgia election workers suing Giuliani request federal court intervention in defamation case
Lawyers for the women are requesting Giuliani now hands over his two condos in New York and Florida, a Mercedes-Benz sports car, three New York Yankees World Series rings, and other sports memorabilia.
Two Georgia election workers who are behind a massive defamation lawsuit against former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani on Friday requested that a federal court force Giuliani to pay the judgment and listed items they could be given to help settle the debt.
Giuliani was ordered to pay the $148 million defamation judgment to election workers Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss in December, after falsely claiming they participated in election fraud during the 2020 election.
Lawyers for Moss and Freeman are now asking a federal court to make Giuliani hand over his two condos in New York and Florida, a Mercedes-Benz sports car, three New York Yankees World Series rings along with other sports memorabilia, and dozens of designer watches.
The New York condo is worth an estimated $6 million, and the Florida property is worth $3.5 million, according to CNN. It is not clear how much the rings are worth, but at least one is estimated at $30,000.
The two women also claimed they are entitled to paychecks Giuliani claimed he is still owed by the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the 2020 presidential campaign for former President Donald Trump.
Giuliani is currently trying to appeal the defamation suit.
The former mayor's representative Ted Goodman accused Moss and Freeman of trying to "harass" and "intimidate" Giuliani.
“This lawsuit has always been designed to censor and bully the mayor, and to deter others from exercising their right to speak up and to speak out,” Goodman said.
