A New York court on Tuesday disbarred former New York Mayor and Donald Trump adviser Rudolph Giuliani , after he was found to have repeatedly made false statements about Trump’s 2020 election loss.

The decision was handed down by a New York appeals court in Manhattan, according to the Associated Press.

The ruling stops Giuliani from practicing law and removes his name from the roll of attorneys and counselors-at-law in the state.

Giuliani’s spokesperson didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment Tuesday by the wire service.

The 80-year-old Giuliani has already had his New York law license suspended for false statements he made after the election.
