Hunter Biden on Tuesday filed a federal lawsuit in California against Rudy Giuliani and others for alleged computer fraud related to the laptop that the first son left at a Delaware computer repair shop.

The lawsuit also names several of Giuliani's companies, 10 unnamed people and former Giuliani attorney Robert Costello, who is suing Giuliani for unpaid legal fees.

Hunter Biden, President Joe Biden's son, says that the defendants are "among those who have been primarily responsible for what has been described as the 'total annihilation'" of his privacy and data, according to the court filing originally obtained by CNBC

In addition to alleging that the defendants violated the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, the lawsuit also states that they violated the California Computer Data Access and Fraud Act as well as the California Business and Professional Code. Biden is the only person from California involved in the case, and it appears that none of the actions he is accusing the defendants of occurred in California, except for those that happened online.

Both Giuliani and Costello have publicly stated that they have accessed data from the device that Biden reportedly left at the Delaware repair shop in 2019. The lawsuit states that the repair shop gave the attorneys Biden's laptop data that was "obtained in some illegal manner."

The publication of the content of the laptop, first by The New York Post, occurred during the 2020 presidential race when President Biden was the Democrat nominee challenging incumbent GOP President Donald Trump, for whom Giuliani was an adviser.

After his plea deal on tax charges was shut down and he was charged with alleged federal firearms crimes, Biden appears to be going on the offense. Last week, he filed a lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service for the alleged "unlawful disclosure" of his personal information.
