Hunter Biden trial on gun charges scheduled for week of June 3
The case is separate from Weiss's indictment of Biden on tax charges.
First son Hunter Biden's trial date addressing gun charges brought by special counsel David Weiss will take place the week of June 3, CBS News reported.
Weiss brought the charges in the wake of a failed plea agreement where U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika questioned the terms of a pre-trial diversion agreement. Biden pleaded not guilty in October of last year.
Specifically, Biden faces three charges for allegedly making false statements on a federal gun form denying his drug use and for possessing a firearm while using such narcotics. Biden's attorneys have sought to dismiss the charges.
Biden attorney Abbe Lowell indicated he expects the judge will agree to dismiss the counts and that the case will not proceed to trial. Should it do so, however, the trial could last for roughly a week.
The case is separate from Weiss's indictment of Biden on tax charges.
