Jim Jordan blasts SCOTUS home protests as illegal

Ohio GOP Rep. Jim Jordan on Friday decried protests outside the homes of Supreme Court justices as illegal.

Jordan's comments come in the wake of a leaked draft opinion from Associate Justice Samuel Alito earlier this month that suggested the court was poised to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade precedent, legalizing abortion nationwide.

“What’s happening here is a direct violation of the law. And it’s meant to influence, it’s meant to intimidate, the Supreme Court justices because of the draft opinion that was leaked,” Jordan said to NTD.

Pro-abortion groups such as Ruth Sent Us have planned protests outside the homes of Supreme Court justices in response to the alleged ruling.

The leaked draft opinion is not legally binding and the court has yet to issue its final opinion, though the ultimate overturn of Roe v. Wade and other abortion case law remains likely.

The Epoch Times highlighted that federal law prohibits attempting to influence federal judges but noted that the Department of Justice has not launched any investigations or legal actions in response to the protests.
