Recording artist Justin Timberlake's driver's license was suspending in New York during a Friday hearing for his drunk driving case.

Sag Harbor Justice Carl Irace criticized Timberlake's lawyer, Edward Burke Jr., for making "irresponsible" comments at the last hearing, characterizing it as an "attempt to poison the case before it even begins."

The judge said he would issue a gag order if Burke made more inappropriate statements.

Timberlake, who pleaded not guilty to the DWI charge, appeared virtually from Antwerp, Belgium.

The judge suspended his license since Timberlake refused a breathalyzer when he was pulled over in June.
