Kobach leads lawsuit against Biden-Harris rule allowing illegal immigrants to get Obamacare benefits
"The Biden-Harris administration shouldn’t get a free pass to violate federal law. Americans can’t afford to foot the healthcare bills of millions of illegal aliens while they’re struggling to pay for groceries and utilities," Kobach said in a statement.
Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach announced on Thursday that multiple states have sued the Biden-Harris administration over a rule that allows illegal immigrants to receive government-subsidized health insurance under Obamacare.
Kobach's office said that rule is a violation of a 1996 federal law that prevents illegal immigrants from receiving public benefits. The rule circumvents that law by characterizing DACA recipients as "lawfully present" in the U.S.
"The Biden-Harris administration shouldn’t get a free pass to violate federal law. Americans can’t afford to foot the healthcare bills of millions of illegal aliens while they’re struggling to pay for groceries and utilities," Kobach said in a statement. "That’s why as Kansas Attorney General I am leading a multistate lawsuit to stop this illegal regulation from going into effect."
