Paul Pelosi, the husband of former Democratic House Speaker and retiring Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, was involved in a hit-and-run in California on Friday, according to several news reports Saturday.

The incident occurred in Yountville, a town in Napa Valley, according to the Associated Press.

The 86-year-old Pelosi allegedly hit a parked car, causing "major damage," authorities said. Alcohol reportedly was not a factor. However, he could face misdemeanor charges.

Pelosi was driving his brown convertible when he struck a car legally parked on the side of the road, briefly stopped, then drove away, the county sheriff’s office said in a statement.

No injuries were reported. Pelosi reportedly drove off, and police officers found his car on the side of the road, about a quarter-of-a-mile from the incident. Pelosi reportedly told officers he knew he hit something but was not sure when or what caused the damage, the wire service also reports.

Pelosi pleaded guilty in 2022 to misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence in Napa County.
