A Chicago-based subcontractor, II in One, filed a $40 million lawsuit against a New York-based engineering firm working on the construction of the Obama Presidential Center.
The lawsuit alleged that racial discrimination required the form to do extra work and put it at risk of bankruptcy.

He argued in the lawsuit that the changes resulted in "excessively rigorous and unnecessary inspection" and major overruns.
The Obama Presidential Center is a roughly $830 million project.
