President Trump calls for Sotomayor, Ginsburg to recuse themselves
Following Supreme Court ruling on White House immigration policies, the president calls for two justices to recuse themselves from cases involving administration
In a series of tweets late Monday night, President Trump called on Supreme Court Justices Sonia Sotomayor and Ruth Bader Ginsburg to recuse themselves from any cases relating to his administration.
The president's call follows a recent, biting dissent from Sotomayor on an immigration policy that the high court narrowly passed, making it more difficult for illegal immigrants to obtain legal status if they use public benefits.
The tweets followed Fox News host Laura Ingraham saying on her show that Sotomayor in her dissent accused GOP-appointed justices of being biased in favor of the current administration.
....on all Trump, or Trump related, matters! While “elections have consequences”, I only ask for fairness, especially when it comes to decisions made by the United States Supreme Court!

In another tweet, in which the president refers to being called a "faker," he is referring to a 2016 interview that Justice Ginsburg gave to CNN in which she said the president is a "faker,” “has no consistency about him,” and “really has an ego.”
Following the initial publication of Ginsburg’s comments, Trump called on her to resign.
Sotomayor wrote in her recent dissent: “Claiming one emergency after another, the Government has recently sought stays in an unprecedented numbers of cases, demanding immediate attention and consuming limited Court resources in each."
