Steve Bannon will head to low security prison, not 'Club Fed': report
The right-wing podcaster notorious for being loyal to presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump, reportedly wanted to be at a white collar prison, known as a "Club Fed."
Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon will face incarceration in a low security prison instead of the nicer facility he sought, CNN reported, citing "people familiar with the arrangements."
He was found guilty in July 2022 of contempt of Congress for defying subpoenas from the Democrat-led House Jan. 6 Committee. The appeals court in May upheld his conviction.
Bannon will reportedly serve his sentence at a Danbury, Conn. The right-wing podcaster and staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, reportedly wanted to be at a white collar prison, known as a "Club Fed."
Earlier this month, a federal court in Washington, D.C., ordered Bannon to prison, ending his bid to avoid incarceration and the appeals process that began after his October 2022 sentencing.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons has not commented on the matter, according to CNN.
