Two illegal migrants arrested for allegedly raping woman at knifepoint in New York City: report
One of the men, 24-year-old Nicaraguan migrant David Davon-Bonilla, pleaded guilty last year to sexually assaulting a different woman at a La Quinta Inn that was converted into housing for asylum seekers.
Two illegal immigrants were arrested for allegedly raping a woman at knife point near New York's Coney Island, the New York Post reported on Monday.
One of the men, 24-year-old Nicaraguan migrant David Davon-Bonilla, pleaded guilty last year to sexually assaulting a different woman at a La Quinta Inn that was converted into housing for asylum seekers. It is not clear why he was allowed to stay in the country after being released from jail.
Davon-Bonilla on Sunday night allegedly forced the as-yet-unidentified woman on the ground before raping her while holding a knife to her throat, the outlet reported. The accomplice, Mexican migrant Leovando Moreno, allegedly attacked the boyfriend with a pipe when he tried to stop the rape.
"Upon arrival officers were informed a 46-year-old female was approached by two unidentified individuals and forced her to the ground by holding a knife to her throat. One of the individuals forcibly raped the victim," a New York Police Department spokesperson told Fox News. "A 34-year-old male victim attempted to intervene and was struck with an object by the second individual."
The woman is believed to be homeless, and living under the boardwalk near the area that the rape occurred. She was transported to the Coney Island Hospital in stable condition. The boyfriend declined medical attention.
Davon-Bonilla, who entered the U.S. through Texas in 2022, has been charged with first-degree rape, second-degree assault, first-degree sexual abuse, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
Moreno has been charged with second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Both men are believed to be homeless, according to Fox News.
