The FBI is reportedly investigating Rob Malley, the Biden administration's former Iran envoy, for allegedly mishandling classified information that was seized by a foreign actor.

Investigators are determining whether any crimes were committed and it is unclear whether the Justice Department will charge Malley, Politico reported Friday.

The report comes after House and Senate Republicans said earlier last week that a "hostile cyber actor" stole classified documents from Malley's personal email and phone.

Malley, who has been on unpaid leave since he was suspended last year, has denied any wrongdoing.
