The Biden administration has reportedly denied a security detail for former national security adviser in the Trump administration Robert O’Brien amid credible threats from Iran.

Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, has written two letters to President Biden requesting the extension of O'Brien's security detail over the last year.

The administration has not approved such requests, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.

Security for top government officials has been thrust into the spotlight after the assassination attempt on former President Trump at his outdoor campaign rally in Butler, Pa.
