CDC shooting suspect identified

Officer David Rose with the DeKalb County Police Department was shot and killed in the incident.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation identified the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shooter as 30-year-old Patrick Joseph White of Kennesaw, Georgia. 

Officer David Rose with the DeKalb County Police Department was shot and killed in the incident. 

White fired at the CDC headquarters, hitting windows. Rose, 33, was one of the officers who responded to the reports of an active shooter. 

Rose was a recent graduate of the police academy and he leaves behind his wife, two children and a third child on the way. 

White was found dead in a nearby building.
