FBI Director Christopher Wray said Wednesday he is resigning as the leader of the agency, according to several news reports.

Wray resigns amid the expectation that incoming GOP President will remove and replace him with a new director. 

Wray said he'll leave his post Jan. 20. He made the announcement in an internal agency town hall, according to ABC News.
